Make a difference

Our research currently depends entirely on charitable donations. We are currently seeking support for a large study to test whether the tolerability and efficacy of ‘psychedelic therapy’ involves a synergistic interaction between drug and therapy, i.e., that psychedelic therapy is more than the sum of its parts. A certain type of study design is required to test this principle and such a study has never been done before.

We are immensely grateful to all of our supporters.

We are especially grateful to: Deneen and Chris Vojta; Steve and Genevieve Jurvetson; Albert Hobohm via Huxley Foundation; and George Goldsmith and Ekaterina Malievskaia - who generously created the Ralph Metzner Distinguished Professorship within the Dept. of Neurology and UCSF.

Why support our research?

Supporting the Carhart-Harris Lab at UCSF means contributing to groundbreaking research at the frontier of mental health science. By donating, you help us tackle one of the most pressing challenges in modern psychiatry: how to effectively treat conditions like depression, PTSD, and anxiety. Our mission is to advance our understanding of how psychedelic therapy works, paving the way for innovative treatments that combine scientific rigor with transformative healing potential.
